DESIGNATED PROJECTS

There are three projects currently identified for possible financial support in the context of the Ukama/Partnership. Contact one of the Ukama/Partnership Coordinators if you would like further information.

Local Church Development Enabling Loan Fund (LCDELF)
This fund has been established for the purpose of building churches, parsonages, etc. in the UCCZ. Loans will be granted by the Ukama/Partnership Committees to those churches who have demonstrated sound planning and evidence that they have a workable repayment plan.

Christian Care
Christian Care is an ecumenical NGO (non-governmental agency) operating under the auspices of the Zimbabwe Council of Churches to provide drought relief, rural development (drilling wells, irrigation projects, etc.), and other aid. Christian Care has offices in Harare, Mutare, Bulawayo, Gweru and Masvingo.

Support for Children and Families Affected by HIV/AIDS (SCFAIDS)
This program was established by the Ukama/Partnership in 1999. Financial contributions made to this fund to date have been very effective and are immensely appreciated in Zimbabwe. Monies support AIDS education/prevention programs (approximately 1/3) and direct care of AIDS victims and their families (approximately 2/3).
